Pay: £100 - £110 per day (dependent on experience)

Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in Manchester, seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team from 22nd April 2025.

About the Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with the school's SENCO and teaching staff to provide personalised support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism spectrum condition (ASC), ADHD, moderate learning difficulties, and emotional and behavioural challenges. Support will be provided both in-class and through small group or 1:1 intervention sessions.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated support to pupils with SEND, adapting resources and strategies to meet individual needs
Work collaboratively with teachers to help deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
Contribute to the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs
Encourage student engagement, independence, and resilience
Monitor pupil progress and communicate effectively with staff and parents/carers where appropriate
Support positive behaviour in line with the school's policies
Requirements:
Applicants must have previous experience working in a school or educational setting - applications from those without this experience will not be considered
A sound understanding of a variety of special educational needs and strategies for effective support
Patience, adaptability, and a calm, nurturing approach
A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) is desirable
An Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
Full-time availability from Tuesday 22nd April 2025
