Position: Home School Liaison Officer
Location: Brent, North-West London
Contract: Full-time, ASAP start
Day Rate: £110 - £130 a day
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Home School Liaison Officer to join our inclusive and supportive secondary school in Brent. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people by supporting students from vulnerable backgrounds, overseeing the Educational Welfare across the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing Educational Welfare across the academy.
- Managing a caseload of 'at risk' students
- Monitoring and improving the attendance of most vulnerable students
- Conducting home visits to engage families and address barriers to school attendance
- Representing the academy at external meetings e.g. Social Services Case Conferences, Child in Need Meetings
- Ensuring effective communication/consultation as appropriate with the parents of students
- Leading on legal interventions for non-attendance where necessary
- Monitoring progress of vulnerable students
- Building and maintaining partnerships with external providers, agencies, and support networks
- Preparing of reports and maintaining records relating to student referrals and subsequent counselling or support
For this role, you will need:
- Ideally, a degree level qualification
- Experience working with families and challenging students
- Experience working in a pastoral capacity
