This role offers the opportunity to support the development of young learners in their early years, helping to create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can grow both academically and socially.

  • Engaging with children in play-based learning to encourage creativity, curiosity, and social interaction.
  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to children, ensuring all their developmental needs are met, including early literacy, numeracy, and social skills.
  • Helping to create and maintain a welcoming, safe, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Supporting the social and emotional well-being of the children by promoting positive behaviour and fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Assisting with the assessment of children's progress and providing feedback to the teacher to aid in future planning.
  • Supporting children with additional needs, ensuring every child feels included and valued.
  • Supervising and ensuring the safety of children during outdoor play, lunchtimes, and other school activities.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young children, ideally within a Nursery or Early Years (EYFS) setting.
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting early childhood development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3) is desirable but not essential.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils in line with the school's policies.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive and inclusive school community where staff collaborate to provide the best possible start to a child's education.
  • Opportunities for professional development and growth within a thriving school environment.
  • A rewarding role where you can make a significant impact on children's early learning and social development.
  • Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
