Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Year 6) - Primary School, South Sheffield

Location: South Sheffield
Role: Full-Time Teaching Assistant (Year 6)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm
Contract: Fixed term for the academic year until July 2025
Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team, working with a Year 6 class at a primary school in South Sheffield. This full-time position offers an excellent opportunity to support students and help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering the Year 6 curriculum
• Working with small groups for maths and English interventions, targeting students who are struggling to achieve the required grade
• Providing one-on-one support for students as needed
• Assisting with classroom preparation, lesson delivery, and student engagement
• Supporting behaviour management and creating a positive learning environment

Requirements:

• Experience working with upper Key Stage 2 students (Year 5/6)
• A strong understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, particularly in maths and English
• Confidence in leading small group interventions
• A flexible and proactive approach to supporting students
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• This role would also be suitable for a qualified teacher looking to step back from leading a full class
