Halloween is the perfect time to get in the autumnal spirit and plan fun activities with the kids. With our easy step by step guide and free downloadable template, you can learn to make your very own witch hat.
This can be used as part of your Witch costume or even as Halloween decoration to get you in the spirit!
What you’ll need
- Scissors
- Glue / double-sided tape
- A4 paper
- Colour pencils or pens
- Optional: An old headband
Step 1 - Print the template
Print the MINI WITCH HAT template out on an A4 piece of paper.
Tip : To make a sturdier hat, print this on card or even use it as a stencil to cut out on some felt sheets.
Step 2 - Make your Design
Draw or colour in the two shapes inside the dotted lines.
(It will be easier to do at this stage before we assemble the hat!)
Step 3 - Cut out the template
Cut out the two shapes following the dotted guidelines.
Step 4 - Make a cone
On the cone shape, fold the panel on the side as indicated. Use some glue or double-sided tape to secure the panel to the other side to make a cone shape.
Step 5 - Attach the cone and circle together
On the circle, fold the panels on the inner circle and using the same glue or tape, secure it to the bottom side of the cone.
Step 6 - Add the final touches
Add any stickers, ribbons or decoration to make it your own!
Optional: You can glue the hat onto an old headband or use two pieces of string on either side to wear as your very own witch hat.
