As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing materials and equipment for practical science lessons, helping to foster a positive learning environment for students in their scientific education.

Position: Science Technician

Location: Trafford

Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (Potential to become Permanent)

Pay: £80 - £100 per day

Responsibilities:

Prepare scientific materials, chemicals, and apparatus for experiments and demonstrations
Arrange and dismantle laboratory equipment and apparatus as needed
Ensure the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous substances
Provide assistance to both teachers and students during practical science lessons
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in science laboratories and storage areas
Perform regular maintenance and calibration tasks on scientific equipment

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a similar lab or science role
A passion for science and a commitment to enhancing student education
Knowledge of COSHH regulations and general procedures in a laboratory setting for safe practice
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Enhanced DBS check or willingness to undergo one
