Primary Teacher (Specialist Setting); Chesterfield

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join our specialist setting in Chesterfield. In this role, you will work with pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 who are currently excluded from mainstream education due to a range of additional needs, including social, emotional, and behavioural challenges. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver the primary curriculum in a way that is accessible and beneficial to these pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering the primary curriculum to pupils with additional needs in a specialist setting.
  • Creating engaging and inclusive lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of the pupils.
  • Collaborating with a team of Teaching Assistants to provide support and maintain a high staff to pupil ratio.
  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress, providing feedback, and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Establishing positive relationships with pupils, parents, and external agencies involved in supporting pupil welfare and education.
  • Participating in meetings and professional development activities outside of regular hours as required.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Experience or a willingness to work with pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual pupils.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Driving licence and access to own car for travel purposes.
  • Applications from Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are welcome.

Working Hours:

  • Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
  • Attendance at meetings and professional development activities outside of regular hours may be required.

Contract Details:

  • Permanent position.
  • Initially pay rolled through Tradewind Recruitment for a probationary period before transferring onto the school's permanent contract.
